Privacy Policy update
August 12, 2026 - Darrel Herbst
We have updated our Privacy Policy. The changes take effect on 12 August 2026.
The update describes information collected by our games, including Code Run Game. In summary:
- You can play as a guest, with no account and no personal information. We generate a random player identifier and keep it in your browser.
- Accounts collect an email address and a password, so that you can choose a display name and appear on leaderboards. We verify the address before the account works.
- An unfinished game is deleted after 30 days without activity.
- A finished game is kept permanently as a record of how it was played, and used in aggregate to test and balance the rules. These records identify players only by an identifier specific to that single game — never by name or email address. A separate index links those games to your account so you can see your own history, and deleting your account deletes that index.
- We briefly record IP addresses — for no more than an hour — to limit how quickly requests can be made and to prevent abuse.
We are posting this notice because the Privacy Policy asks us to tell you here whenever we make a substantive change to how we use your information.
If you have questions, or you would like a specific game record removed, write to privacy@streamingrat.com.
